Kibria

Mr.Golam Kibria, DIG of Bangladesh Police is the current Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police. He was born in 1966 in the district of Dhaka. He joined Bangladesh Police as an officer of 12th BCS (Police) cadre in 1991. After completion of Basic and Practical training, he started his journey as ASP (Assistant Superintendent of Police) of Chittagong district. He got promotion as Superintendent of Police (SP)  in 2004. Since then he held several important offices as SP of Natore, Sunamgonj and Mymensingh districts. Moreover, He held the positions as Deputy Police Commissioner of Metropolitan Police like DMP and KMP and also worked successfully as Addl DIG and  DIG (Deputy Inspector General) in Police Headquarters. In his long and impeccable service, he has been posted in the number of 21 important units of Bangladesh Police.  He visited several countries for foreign trainings and workshops. He served as Police Observer in UN Peace Keeping Mission in Kosovo and East Timor. He has been awarded with IGP Medals for exemplary service rendered in 2014. He did his graduation as BSc(Hons) from the department of fisheries of BAU(Bangladesh Agriculture University). In his personal life, he is proud father of two sons and one daughter.
